Construction continues on Chicago Spire

May 31st, 2008 by Administrator

Construction of the Chicago Spire started in July of last year, and continues at a frenzied pace as the developer aims for a 2010 opening of the megaproject. The development will stand 2,000 feet over the city of Chicago, and will become the tallest residential tower in the United States.

The Chicago Spire will offer nearly 1,200 luxury condominiums, with floor plans ranging from studio units to lavish penthouse condominiums. Buyers looking to live in the premier building in Chicago can already choose from a number of floor plans. Sales of condominiums at the Chicago Spire began earlier this year.

Prices for these units are among the most expensive in Chicago. A studio unit starts in the mid $700s. Most one and two-bedroom units are priced over $1 million, and the largest penthouse unit costs an incredible $40 million, making it the most expensive condominium in the city.

Shelbourne Development, a Dublin-based company, is the developer behind the Chicago Spire. Santiago Calatrava, the internationally acclaimed architect, designed this unique building.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to live in the premier building on the Chicago skyline. The sales office is located on the 18th floor in the NBC Tower.

Ultra tall residential buildings invade Chicago

May 28th, 2008 by Administrator

The Chicago skyline will never be the same after the completion of several major residential developments around the city. Trump’s International Hotel and Tower, major developments around the south side of Grant Park, and the already famous Chicago Spire are just a few of the newest projects underway in the city.

The Chicago Spire is perhaps the most anticipated project to come to the city. There’s been talk of a supertall building to be built on the Chicago waterfront for years, but it wasn’t until Garrett Kelleher of Shelbourne Development decided to risk it all on this megaproject.

The 150-story Chicago Spire will become the tallest tower in Chicago, and will be the highest residential tower in all of the United States. A total of nearly 1,200 units will be available, with prices starting in the $700s for a studio unit and ranging up to as much as $40 million for the most luxurious penthouse west of New York.

Construction on the tower will wrap up in 2010, and the sales team has a difficult job ahead of them. With most units costing more than $1 million, the developer may have a difficult time preselling all units in the midst of a difficult real estate market. However, marketing efforts around the world could bring buyers from many countries to the tower.
